We are thrilled to announce that the Regional Transportation District (RTD) has secured $150 million in federal funding to propel the East Colfax Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project forward. This 9.9-mile corridor, stretching from Denver Union Station to Colfax Station near I-225 in Aurora, will enhance transit options and alleviate congestion. Last week, the COMTO Colorado Chapter celebrated a significant milestone with their 20th anniversary. Founded by Jonnie Thomas, PE, Lochner's Board Director and Transit & Rail Principal, and Phil Washington, Chief Executive Officer of Denver International Airport, the chapter has been at the forefront of promoting inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, and identity in the transportation industry. At the anniversary event, attendees paid tribute to the visionary leadership and contributions of Jonnie Thomas and Phil Washington. The event also marked the eagerly awaited return of the Scholarship program, demonstrating COMTO's commitment to supporting future minority leaders in transportation. President of COMTO Colorado, Rico Nelson, and Board Member Kelli Kelly expressed gratitude for the founders' enduring legacy and highlighted the chapter’s ongoing efforts to foster diversity and inclusion in the transportation sector.

Triunity, A Lochner Company, has been selected by Denver’s Regional Transportation District (RTD) for the Project Management Support Consultant contract, overseeing design, construction, repair, renovation, and replacement projects for transit infrastructure throughout the Denver Metro area. The first of its kind in the agency’s history, the project will enhance safety and mobility, address deteriorating transit infrastructure, and prolong the design life of key transportation assets. This past weekend, the KOA & Triunity, Inc. 2024 Summer Volunteer Event was held at Seal Beach where over 360 pounds of trash was successfully collected! Despite a beach clean-up event the day before, we still managed to gather so much trash! We would like to thank The Surfrider Foundation for working with us again and teaching us the importance of protecting our ocean, waves, and beaches. After the clean-up, our volunteers went to The Beach House for a delicious meal and amazing views of the clean beach. We are excited for the next opportunity to give back to our communities!
