  • TEXAS is STRONG because of so many!   …and the members of the Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association (TACA) are in that crowd of many.     TACA recently held its highly anticipated 70th Annual Meeting, marking the most significant event of the year for the industry.     This organization has members who are serious about their business and play a major role in ensuring all involved in the industry continue to operate and provide the highest level of service, expertise and quality possible.   A truly successful annual meeting that featured a combination of informative sessions, community service/raising of funds for a cause and valuable networking opportunities.   TxEDC looks forward to building on this relationship and at a point in the future, welcoming TACA to the TxEDC team!   Our THANKS to President/CEO Josh Leftwich for including TxEDC in the annual meeting.   Congratulations TACA on 70 years!

The first day of our economic development mission to Taiwan was a resounding success and marked a pivotal moment in strengthening the bond between Texas and Taiwan. I met with President Lai Ching-te in Taipei to discuss the various ways we can enhance our economic and cultural ties. Later in the morning, I signed an Economic Development Statement of Intent with Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs Jyh-Huei Kuo to encourage more investment, trade, and collaboration in key industries to support future innovation. Following the signing ceremony, I was proud to announce the establishment of the State of Texas Taiwan Office. Our goal is to facilitate closer cooperation and foster mutually beneficial economic growth and cultural exchange. I then attended a luncheon hosted by the Taiwan Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-Lung, where I met with business leaders from across Taiwan. To close out the day, I met with a GlobiTech executive to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the semiconductors and telecommunications industries. Excited for the opportunities ahead as we continue our three-nation economic development mission to Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. More: https://bit.ly/3VT136L
