What would happen if all Austin nonprofits closed for one day? How would it effect the lives of you and your neighbors? As our partner, One Voice Central Texas, shows in data, it would be pretty devastating for thousands of people. A thriving nonprofit sector is vital to the community. That's why we're proud to sponsor One Voice to further their work advocating for nonprofits and the hundreds of thousands of people they serve. Scroll these images below to see some of the impact of our local nonprofits. Thank you, One Voice! #NationalNonprofitDay

National Nonprofit Day is this Saturday, August 17! This annual celebration highlights both the incredible impact and the ongoing needs of nonprofits across the country. This week, One Voice Central Texas is launching a campaign to explore what our community would look like if nonprofits disappeared for just one day. To commemorate National Nonprofit Day, we've gathered data, stories, and interviews from 44 nonprofit organizations in the Austin area to showcase their impact on a single day. With public and private funding becoming more competitive - driven by a 22% increase in Texas nonprofits over the past decade - and individual donations and volunteerism still in a decline due to the pandemic, many impactful organizations are being forced to limit services, lay off staff, or even close their doors. When nonprofits are unable to provide preventive services and other means of support, our community and neighbors suffer. Through our campaign, we encourage you to consider donating your time or money, learning about your local nonprofits, advocating for policies that support them, and sharing posts from the organizations you care about. Through images and video, we’ll be highlighting just how essential these organizations are to the health and safety of our community. Remember, the numbers we share are based on the daily impact of just 44 nonprofits in the Austin area – imagine the impact of all 800+ local health and human service nonprofits. A special thank you to Cherry Youn, our Spring Research Fellow through the UT CONNECT Program. We ask that you please share this post, and stay tuned for our campaign video launching on Friday! True impact is not measured by the depth of knowledge one possesses, but by the breadth of compassion they extend.

Coming in HOT 🥵 with the fRAMily on move-in day at Huston-Tillotson University! It was a great time welcoming the new students along with our new UFCU members. Thank you Eric Washington, Marie Romans, Crystal Zuniga, and Samuel Oyetakin for passionately serving the students and families on this wonderful SUNday ☀️☀️☀️. 🐏

On Saturday, we celebrated our very first UFCU Mobile Branch Members! Whitney, a long-time member, opened accounts for her two daughters, Ariya and Kamari. This family was just one of 400 people who came to Del Valle High School to take advantage of Equidad ATX's Live Well/Vive Bien resource fairs. The mobile branch staff braved the heat and spoke to hundreds of people from across east Travis County. If you missed us this time, you can find our mobile branch every third Saturday at Del Valle HS. "Today was an exciting day," said Peter Davila, mobile branch manager. "We're thrilled to be here for this community." Learn more here about the UFCU Mobile Branch: https://lnkd.in/ePZmyP99
