The World Credit Union Conference has kicked off in Boston. Our CEO, Anatoli Murha, is present along with colleagues from credit unions in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian American and Ukrainian Canadian credit unions. This morning, Anatoli was a panelist for the “Heritage, Leadership, and Connection to Community: Impact Stories” session where he highlighted how Ukrainian American and Ukrainian Canadian credit unions provide essential financial services including the ability to establish credit upon arrival into the country. His presentation addressed the importance of being active in and championing, community organizations. Joining Anatoli were global credit union colleagues from Brazil and Kenya. Representatives from the various Ukrainian credit unions had an opportunity to meet with Elissa McCarter LaBorde, CEO of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU). In the afternoon, the President of the All-Ukrainian Credit Union Association, Olga Tuhai, shared stories from Ukraine at the “Standing Up & Standing By: Credit Union Relief & Resiliency through Project Storm Break” session. The Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is grateful to be in Boston with leaders from the Ukrainian American Credit Union Association (Ukrainian Federal Credit Union and Selfreliance Federal Credit Union), Council of Ukrainian Credit Unions of Canada (Ukrainian Credit Union Limited and BCU Financial), All-Ukrainian Credit Union Association, and the Anisia Credit Union from Lviv, Ukraine. #wcuc2024
