It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon; and we are half way through Day 1 of 2 for the Deep Venous Essentials Course at #UNCHealthRex in Raleigh, NC! We are thrilled to host a mix of physicians and clinical specialist reps from across the country as a part of our committment to education. This two-day course is led by Dr. Bobby Mendes, Martyn Knowles, MD MBA FACS, Erin Murphy, MD, FACS, and Dr. Kush Desai. Today’s didactic portion of the course delves into venous disease topics such as: the spectrum of venous disease, differential diagnosis, DVT and NIVL treatment, as well as post-thrombotic disorder. Saturdays at the North Carolina Summerfest Symphony series is always a hit! Nearly 100 people stopped by the #UNCHealthRex #strokeawareness booth to collect a fan and learn about the signs and symptoms of heart attacks and strokes! While there, visitors also learned about cardiovascular health and prevention measures while we gave away BEFAST magnets, pocket cards and flyers for information on prevention, recognition and recovery. Juli Pankow was joined by Darcy Subramaniam, her daughter Sophie, and paramedic Jason Thompson from VARN IV Acess. Together they made sure the symphony had enough information to share with the orchestra and all of their support staff to further expand their outreach efforts!
