⚠️ Incessant violence. ⚠️ Lack of essential services. ⚠️ Limited aid and supplies. Where do children go for safety? A ceasefire is long overdue in Gaza.

Schools underwater, crops destroyed, water sources contaminated, families displaced, entire lives submerged. Floods put children’s lives and the services they depend on at risk. We need urgent #ClimateAction, for every child.

“Some women couldn’t take a whole day off and went to traditional healers instead. As a result, some children were never vaccinated and became very sick.” This was the case in Zambezia, Mozambique, until UNICEF-supported mobile health teams stepped in.👇

One child is displaced EVERY MINUTE in Haiti because of ongoing armed violence. Over 300,000 of them need urgent humanitarian assistance. Children who are displaced are at increased risk of exploitation and abuse. Their access to essential services like safe spaces, healthcare and clean water and sanitation is also disrupted. Additionally, they have to face a cyclone season that may further damage healthcare and increase their exposure to water-borne diseases. The children of Haiti need peace and continued support from the international community.

Climate change is changing children. From rising temperatures affecting school performance to droughts leading to undernutrition, floods leading to injuries and air pollution increasing adverse birth outcomes, the climate crisis is taking a toll on children’s health. The time for urgent #ClimateAction is NOW.

Have you already experienced a heatwave this year? Heatwaves debilitate children’s health and well-being and by 2050, every child on our planet – over 2 billion – will be exposed to high heatwave frequency. We need urgent #ClimateAction.

Eight-year-old Emeldina lives with her family and parrot Jessy in southern Belize, a region grappling with both drought and floods. After school, Emeldina takes on a remarkable job: delivering the weather report on a local radio station. Her family is one of many benefiting from a UNICEF-supported cash assistance initiative. "With this money we buy rice, flour and beans,” explains her father, Omarion. “It helps us enormously." Every child has the right to good nutrition, fueling their body and minds to reach their full potential. UNICEF works alongside governments worldwide to ensure struggling families living through conflict, climate change and economic insecurity, receive the support they need, including vital social and nutrition services.
