Our Mill District Parking Garage project artfully combines the charm of old mill aesthetics with contemporary design. 🌟 Mill Aesthetic Tribute: One façade mimics mill windows with thin brick-clad window walls and decorative screening panels. 🏙️ The Stair Tower Marvel: The stair tower is a glass-encased wonder, maximizing natural light with tree columns supporting precast stairs. 🚄 All Aboard: MBTA Salem Rail Station 🚄 The MBTA Salem Intermodal Commuter Rail Station is a shining example of precast concrete's versatility and artistry. By fast-tracking the project with precast components, it met tight deadlines and minimized future maintenance. The design team also paid homage to the area's history with intricate precast patterns. Strength in Design: Explore the award-winning WPI Sports and Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass., where precast concrete took center stage to overcome challenges and deliver a space that stands the test of time. 🏋️♂️🏊♀️🏀 From the start, the project faced a demanding task: create a structure resilient enough for a potentially corrosive pool environment and capable of spanning 110 feet (34 meters) across the pool. After careful consideration, precast concrete emerged as the solution, offering durability, mass, and shape flexibility. This choice not only fortified the project but also lent it a distinctive aesthetic appeal. As a polytechnic institution, the innovative use of precast concrete became a source of pride for the client. Project Showcase: The Hudson Street Employee Parking Garage. This iconic nine-story structure wasn't just about parking; it was about creating a symbol of safety and excellence for our community. Through close collaboration with Unistress, we turned concepts into reality with speed and efficiency. By simplifying panel types and drawing inspiration from cedar shakes, we transformed this late 1940s structure into a masterpiece of light and shadow. Our challenge? To set the design language for future campus projects while paying tribute to the historic surroundings. The result? A breathtaking facade adorned with stacked, three-dimensional "folded" panels in white, gracefully contrasting with charcoal gray columns. Design Assist was instrumental, allowing us to use precast concrete for expansive cladding spans. Shingle-inspired concepts, sandblasted finishes, and angled projections for captivating shadows were all part of the innovation. Join us in celebrating this architectural gem, a testament to our commitment to excellence and service.
