Did you know the banana split was created in Latrobe, PA in 1904, making it 120 years young? The PA city celebrates this summer treat every year during the Great American Banana Split Celebration, that includes a 5k, booths and of course, banana splits. Our very own Latrobe and nearby North Huntingdon teammates joined in the festivities by leading the pre-run stretch/warm up and engaged with the community. We are honored to have partnered with The Victory Project to host the first-ever Victory Run x Planet Fitness 5K. Proceeds from donations and our over 300 registrants support The Victory Project's mission of enriching the lives of kids battling cancer, which includes providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for kids fighting cancer to experience a VIP weekend with Sporting KC as Match Day Honorees. UFP teammates Chris Thompson, Salina, KS, CM, and Anna Rivera, Kansas City, MO (Antioch), CM, just returned from an incredible volunteer trip to the Dominican Republic with Soles4Souls due to the success of our shoe drive last year. Our team served nearly 800 children and families by sizing their feet, distributing new shoes, and connecting with thousands of people, learning about their rich culture and lifestyle while making joyful memories playing with the children during the trip.   Thank you to Soles4Souls for inviting our teammates and for your efforts in making a difference in the world around us.

Last week, our Support Center teammates huddled in Austin for a Leadership Development Conference. The team participated in exercises to define culture among their teams and our organization as a whole. Teammates left feeling inspired and full of positive energy for what’s to come!

Things heated up last weekend during the Planet Fitness Dodgeball Bash. This was our first year sponsoring the iconic Laurel, MS event that raises funds for the Laurel Main Street Organization who is committed to preserving Laurel’s unique heritage while ensuring ongoing economic stability. UFP teammates from Mississippi and Louisiana opened the run and held the line representing ‘ The Dodgefathers’ and ‘Game of Throws.' Congratulations to the winning team, Community Bank!    Thank you to District Manager, Natalie Kirk, for coordinating the event and to all of our teammates for joining in the community fun!

We're excited to welcome high school age teens, 14-19, the opportunity to workout for FREE across Planet Fitness locations all summer long as a part of the High School Summer Pass™! This program positively impacts the physical and mental health of millions of teens during a critical time of year when school is out, and important academic or extracurricular activities are on pause.
