Last week, I shared tips for job candidates, and this week, I'm back with advice for employers! As you gear up for Q4 and beyond, ensuring you have the right team is crucial for success in 2025. Here are my top 10 tips for identifying and hiring the best candidate: - Assess candidates' research to gauge their interest and initiative in your company. - Ensure resumes are flawless and well-organized to reflect attention to detail. - Look for resumes highlighting specific, measurable achievements relevant to the role. - Consider using screening services or a recruiter to focus on the most qualified candidates. - Evaluate concise, well-written cover letters for insights into the candidate's fit. - Match candidate experience with job requirements and business needs. - Ask for specific examples of past work to assess problem-solving skills. - Evaluate how well candidates summarize their strengths and relevance to the role. - Seek candidates who offer solutions to your company's challenges. - Look for professionalism in punctuality, preparedness, thoughtful questions, and post-interview follow-up. hashtag #Recruitment hashtag #HiringTips hashtag #EmployerAdvice hashtag #StaffingNeeds hashtag #Q4Preparation hashtag #BusinessGrowth

Tuesday Tip! Listen and Take Note! When I’m talking to a candidate or a client, I’m taking copious notes (by hand or electronically into my CRM), so that I don’t miss a beat. So often we have these amazing meetings with others and if we are just talking without really taking note of what the other is saying, there are so many things that end up falling through the cracks. Particularly if you are qualifying or learning about the other person’s needs or desires. How can you remember it all? It’s like that scene in (my favorite show) "The Crown" where Lady Fermoy is schooling Diana on royal customs and she said, “it’s like when a waiter doesn’t write down your order.” What a perfect analogy! Without my notebook and my CRM (to memorialize it forever), I am nothing! 😂 What about you? What tools do you use to help you in your business?

*July Placements* As the “Go-To Recruiter in Real Estate”, our clients span multiple facets within the industry. We were entrusted to find and place a phenomenal Director of Marketing for a top ranked team at Compass. We also had the pleasure of working with a real estate investment firm with offices in Shanghai and New York, and successfully placed a multi-lingual, uber-talented real estate investor relations associate. How we found the talent? The first, through our trusted partner, LinkedIn, and the second, we reached out to a candidate we met with many years ago who we thought would be a perfect fit for the role. The advantage of working with a recruiter is that we maintain relationships with both the clients and the candidates. Our hyper-focused and personalized meeting process is NEVER “one and done” ✅

Your PTO is yours! Personal Time Off Don’t ignore it. Have a team mate answer your emails. Don’t work while on vacation. With the wonderful evolution of technology, we have become connected more than ever. In fact, the expectation is now that if one receives an email, even if on the other side of the world, they should at some point “check in” and answer. This may be a controversial opinion, but I’m of the mindset that vacation should be a time to fully be off. One should be able to set up systems and coverage where all emails are answered, no client call gets missed, and projects move ahead as they should. What do you think? Should vacation be a time to disconnect fully? Answer emails a few times during the week? Or check in daily?

The Paris Olympics showcased the epitome of sportsmanship with elite US athletes like Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles bowing down to Brazil's Rebeca Andrade in a display of grace and respect this week, after she won Gold. These athletes serve as shining examples of perseverance and humility in the face of competition. Reflecting on these stories, it's inspiring to apply the lessons of teamwork and resilience to real life, especially when guiding our children through challenges. As my daughters navigate different sports camps this week, one facing familiar friends at Cheer Camp and the other unfamiliar territory at Basketball Camp, I'm reminded of the valuable lessons sports teach us. Here are some of the things I've shared with my kids: ~You’re going to work on teams that won’t always gel. This is life. ~There will be others that you may not like, that may be on the court or in your work place! You can’t always have the perfect team or perfect job, but you don’t just quit because of that. ~Talent is a small part of winning. The bigger part is practice and your effort.  ~The more you do something, the easier it becomes. When you do it over and over and over, you feel more confident. Let's celebrate the dedication and spirit of all athletes, paving the way for future generations with their unwavering determination and sportsmanship. #Sportsmanship #Teamwork #Resilience #ParisOlympics #AthleteInspiration
