We reflect on a successful 25th conference of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences (IAS), where Jeff Camkin from TARH - Terra, Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos, Lda. and The University of Western Australia presented the #UPWATER project! 🌍 The #conference, which focused on the critical nexus of water, energy, food, and ecosystems for the security of OIC countries, provided an excellent platform to showcase our work. In his presentation "Aims, design, outputs and hopes of the EU project UPWATER for protecting groundwater and enhancing water quality," Jeff placed UPWATER’s efforts in the context of current and emerging water policy in #Europe. He highlighted the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster as a key mechanism for maximizing research investment value and its impact on water policy and practice. 🌐 “We all have an important role to play in dealing with the world’s water challenges," Jeff said, "but the goal is not to undertake new research, generate more data, create new information, gain more knowledge, establish new policies, or even ensure better practices. These are useful, but they are only steps.
