Proposals are now being accepted for the 2025 Report to Congress. Each year, the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works develops a Report to Congress on Future Water Resources Development. This is an opportunity for non-Federal interests to identify new feasibility study authorities, modifications to an authorized USACE water resources development project or feasibility study, and modifications to environmental infrastructure program authorities for congressional authorization. George Washington appointed the first engineer officers of the Army on June 16, 1775, during the American Revolution, and engineers have served in combat in all subsequent American wars. The Army established the Corps of Engineers as a separate, permanent branch on March 16, 1802, and gave the engineers responsibility for founding and operating the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Since then the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has responded to changing defense requirements and played an integral part in the development of the country. Happy birthday to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment, and thank you to all who have contributed to our efforts for the Nation!

For over 15 years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has actively engaged in initiatives that share best practices in water management, disaster risk mitigation, and sustainable development across the Indo-Pacific region. Collaboration with our international partners and allies not only contributes to community resilience within the region but also fosters peace, stability, cooperation, and development worldwide. Earlier this month, USACE hosted delegates from five Vietnam ministries and eight provinces for a World Bank sponsored study tour focused on nature-based solutions. The delegates visited various Corps of Engineers’ offices and projects to learn about the use of nature-based, sustainable solutions in the management of water resources. The objective of the visit was to support Vietnam’s initiative to implement nature-based solutions in the Vietnam delta. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eTbdWBW8
