At U.S. Xpress, we’re on a mission to make goods move better every day

About us

We’ve been evolving to meet the challenges of moving goods better for nearly 40 years. The strength we’ve built throughout our history is powerful — and we’re using it to drive future growth. Together, our businesses boast an unmatched network know-how, experience, and innovation. Our over-the-road (OTR) division offers an asset-based fleet across the United States with both solo and expedited solutions, and flex capacity to cover surges and special projects. Our Dedicated division offers customers the flexible, on-demand capacity of their own private fleet delivering every day, without the hassle of having to manage one. The U.S. Xpress Logistics division gives shippers access to a full-service fleet backed by a strong freight logistics network. For carriers, it helps keep their trucks running and income rolling, with support from our people and technology. We know our people are the key to our success. That's why we promote from within at every level of the company. If you're looking for a work environment with rich opportunities to grow and advance your career, this is it. In 2023, U.S. Xpress became part of the Knight-Swift family of brands, joining the industry's largest full truckload carrier as we build our company's future. After 37 years with U.S. Xpress, Inc. and reaching his Three Million Miler status, Professional Driver Johnny Loftis is retiring. Yesterday, his terminal honored him with a retirement party to celebrate his dedication and hard work. We are so thankful for the years Johnny has spent working with us and the incredible impact he’s had on those around him. We will miss you. Happy retirement!

The first annual Touch a Truck event is in the books. The future of the transportation industry is looking bright with these kids!

What a great turn out for the first annual Touch a Truck event in Shippensburg. The kids loved climbing in the truck and seeing all the gadgets. However the fan favorite was making songs with the air horn! We got a lot of “this sure is a beautiful truck!” “I’m changing careers if I can drive a truck like this” The Volvo sure was a fan favorite!

One Million Miler Frederick Spikes has been with U.S. Xpress for nine years. He began his career in management, overseeing and managing drivers, but knew that one day he would like to become a driver himself. Nine years later, his journey from the office to the open road has earned him the One Million Miler title. Learn more about Frederick’s story in the video below!

Professional Driver Jeremy Winslow recently gained a new co-driver in a surprising way! During a routine Pre-Trip Inspection, Jeremy was making sure everything was in order before hitting the road. During his review, he found an eight-week-old kitten curled up in the engine of his truck. Thanks to his efficient inspection, this kitten now rides up front with Jeremy as his new furry co-pilot. This is just one of many reasons why it is important to do a thorough Pre-Trip Inspection – you never know what you might find.

In June of 2023, a destructive fire swept through our Springfield terminal. Ever since, the Springfield team has been hard at work installing building foundations, underground plumbing, and electrical lines. One full year since the fire, we are starting to see the building structure come to life. Thank you to the Springfield team for your continuous hard work and patience. We cannot wait to see the new terminal! Check out the video below to get a bird’s eye view of the progress on our Springfield terminal.
