How do we level-up our sustainability? 🧐 Lubricants play a vital role in mining operations and are essential for a robust maintenance program. Recently, US Aggregates collaborated with General Petroleum, Inc.. and Mobil Lubricants to enhance our maintenance strategy. This partnership allowed us to quadruple our drain intervals at the Portland quarry and reduce the variety of products used. As a result, we achieved lower operating costs, a more sustainable operation, and increased productivity. We extend our gratitude to our exceptional partners and our US Aggregates team! 💯For more details about US Aggregates and their efforts, visit: https://bit.ly/3zr5bU2

We are extremely grateful for our partnership with KCF Technologies, Inc.! It has greatly improved our operational performance across our sites. Thank you for the recognition! Everyone, please take a moment to watch the outstanding keynote by our Director of Operations, Kristin Sweeney: https://lnkd.in/eSy7qeCK
A few common themes I have consistently observed with organizations adopting Industrial Transformation are: 1. Small and mid-sized companies innovate more quickly. In fact, I would say the pace of innovation is inversely proportional to organizational size. 2. Privately held companies more readily make long-term investments with big, gradual payoffs, compared to publicly held companies that either take longer to commit, or tend towards smaller efforts with more immediate (yet smaller) payoffs. 3. The culture of the workers, especially those closest to the manufacturing process (and therefore the machines), is the most important factor. Are they aligned to see change as an opportunity for improvement, or a threat to the status quo? US Aggregates enjoys advantages in all three of these aspects, and perhaps not surprisingly, is rapidly becoming one of KCF Technologies, Inc. best and fastest adopters. Yet despite the advantaged characteristics, another consistent pattern is that change never happens until a dynamic leader provides the direction, clarity, energy and consistency required to implement something new. Kristin Sweeney is doing exactly that, and delivered an excellent keynote on how her teams are accelerating continuous improvement in one of the industries we all depend on but don't think about - aggregate mining for our roads & structures. For anyone seeking clarity to implement industrial technology to optimize machine health in a rugged challenging industry, Kristin's presentation is worth a watch. https://lnkd.in/eSy7qeCK #lean #industrialtransformation #industry40

Last week, US Aggregates' Laurie Webb and Rachel Lockhart had the pleasure of sponsoring three teachers at the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association - IMAA BLAST Institute in Bloomington! The sponsored teachers were: • Danielle DeFries (left) and Inga Dainton (right) from Kankakee Valley Middle School • Stephanie Donovan (middle) from Garden City Elementary School The BLAST Institute is a week-long program designed specifically for K-12 science teachers in Indiana. The institute focuses on hands-on workshops on Indiana geology, career opportunities and the uses of aggregates.

Lubricants are critical to mining operations and the cornerstone of a strong maintenance program. We recently worked with General Petroleum Inc. andMobil Lubricants North America to streamline our maintenance program. We not only quadrupled our drain intervals at our Portland quarry in the process, but also consolidated the number of products used. This resulted in lower operating costs, a more sustainable operation and increased productivity. Thank you to both of our wonderful partners.
