Holistic Health and Fitness, #H2F, programs vary throughout the US Army . As a Brigade Commander's program, the embedded Human Performance Teams work to accomplish their Commander's intent. The 165th Infantry Brigade has utilized its H2F team to maximize results for the constantly changing soldier population due to the busy 10-week schedule in Basic Combat Training. Holistic Health and Fitness, #H2F, provides the US Army's most valuable weapon, the Soldier, with the same care that professional athletes receive. This increased access to care increases Soldier lethality and readiness and improves their quality of life. Check out SSG Richard Rometty's testimonial on how even though he is being chaptered out of the Army for an injury, the #H2F team embedded in the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade is rehabilitating other injuries, enabling him to transition as healthy as possible. H2F Integrators serve at the company and platoon level and help implement #H2F throughout their formations to increase individual Soldier readiness. US Army TRADOC John Kline Michael McMurdy

During Basic Combat Training, #BCT, Trainees learn how to properly handle and throw an M67 fragmentary grenade. Throwing their first grenade is one of the most memorable moments for anyone in the US Army. Do you remember yours? US Army TRADOC John Kline Michael McMurdy

It is time to embrace operationalizing warfighter fatigue management by integrating the best sports science into US Army culture. From a performance standpoint, leaders often are concerned about the impact of limited sleep on the ability of soldiers to recognize failed solutions, generate novel solutions, anticipate problems, plan and prioritize efforts and solve problems, as well as show vigilance, attention to detail, ability to multitask, concentration, emotional stability and motivation. In addition to degrading performance, sleep deprivation can lead to mission-impacting errors, near-miss incidents, mishaps and accidents. Read more from Brig. Gen. Trainees going through Basic Combat Training, #BCT, this week at Fort Jackson completed their final graduation requirement "The Forge"! "The Forge" is a 96-hour FTX that tests Trainees on all skill level 1 tasks and challenges them with firing their assigned weapon while under stress and maintaining their fundamentals of shooting. Upon completing their final ruck out of the field, Trainees participated in the Soldier ceremony where they were awarded their US Army patches and able to done their black berets for the first time! "The First 100 Yards" is a US Army Trainees first exposure to their Basic Combat Training, #BCT, Drill Sergeants and their first opportunity to begin building cohesive teams in high stress situations. “The First 100 Yards,” a homage to their lineage of closing the last 100 yards of the fight, incorporates teamwork into a competition that features mental and physical challenges on the day they arrive to their basic training company.
