Today's Intern Spotlight features Youn Hee Kim (Yunny), an ITM master's student here at UT Dallas. Read on about how Yunny secured an internship through the UCC's programs! "The University Career Center played a crucial role in helping me secure my internship. I initially discovered the company I will be interning at through a Hackathon hosted by the career center. During this event, I was able to show-off my technical skills, learn more about the company, and connect with the recruiter. Following the Hackathon, the career center set-up an office tour of the company, providing me insight into the industry and allowing me to network with individuals within it. I also utilized the career center's mock interview services, which helped me prepare for the interview process. "My challenge was transitioning from business-focused roles to product management, so I really needed a thoughtful strategy, which I received from the UT Dallas - University Career Center. I was coached by a career consultant at the UCC, who took the time to understand my professional gaps and identify areas for improvement. With the University Career Center's encouragement, I began applying for internships. Together, we reviewed possible internships, identified roles and contacts, and prepared for interviews. The UCC supported me through every step of the application process, leading to my product management internship at CBRE, which lasted for a year. This internship transformed my career trajectory, facilitating my transition from sales roles to product management.   Given the close collaboration with the University Career Center, I also had CBRE and the University Career Center meet up to discuss a sponsored hackathon at UTD, hackCBRE, which which was led by the University Career Center. The event gathered more than 80 participants.   I am grateful for the support the University Career Center has given me.
