Meet Taiwo Iyaomolere, Operations Support Engineer at Valaris! Taiwo’s fascination with engineering was sparked at a high school oil and gas conference, where she was attracted to the complexity of drilling rigs. This interest led her to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. Taiwo began her journey at Valaris as a #trainee, completing our three-year #Engineer Trainee program. She now coordinates offshore projects and solves technical challenges for our North Sea operations. One of Taiwo's standout moments was managing her new role at Valaris while transitioning from #Nigeria to #Scotland during her pregnancy. She credits the supportive and inclusive culture at Valaris for her successful transition. "I wasn't entirely sure I could handle everything at the same time. However, with the support of my managers and colleagues at Valaris, I was able to ease into the role and adjust to the new country without any issues," she says.   Taiwo encourages #women considering a career in offshore drilling to seek out companies that value diverse voices and perspectives. “Valaris promotes diversity and inclusion, providing strong support for women.
