We are excited to announce that Inmarsat Maritime has partnered with aramco to trial the world-first over water 5G mesh network that aims to provide high-bandwidth connectivity even in extreme conditions for Aramco’s offshore work in the Arabian Gulf. Our recent successful tests in the UK demonstrated reliable and high throughput millimeter Wave (mmWave) signal propagation over water, and now we're taking it to the next level in the Arabian Gulf. The technology has the potential to allow Aramco to optimize offshore operations with the 5G mesh and enable capabilities such as intelligent remote maintenance and remote operations, augmented reality-assisted operations, monitoring with IoT sensors, and enhanced safety and security features. We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear colleague and friend Nagi Mahalingam. Nagi was a world-class engineer who made lasting contributions to products and technology at several leading telecommunication companies. At Verana, he was a crucial member of our system architecture team. His knowledge of wireless protocols and 3GPP specifications was among the best in the industry. Nagi was also a great mentor and a patient teacher for many of us and could guide teams through the toughest of situations. His incredible work ethic and commitment to Verana will always be an inspiration for our team. Words cannot describe how much Nagi meant to all his colleagues. Beyond his technical prowess, he was a wonderful person who was down-to-earth and had a great sense of humor. Many of us at Verana knew him for nearly two decades. For those of us lucky enough to have worked closely with him, he was not just a colleague, but a dear friend. Nagi left us far too early and we will miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with his family as they deal with this unimaginable loss. In celebrating Nagi's life, we honor not only his professional legacy but also the warmth and love that he shared with his family.
