This landmark research highlights the profound impact of soft exosuits on industrial workers, specifically in reducing back and hip injuries and enhancing overall worker well-being. Over four years, we analyzed over 65 million lifts across 40+ sites and five industries: Construction, Food & Beverage, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Retail. This comprehensive study is the first of its kind and provides invaluable insights into the ergonomic and safety benefits of integrating wearable technology into physically demanding jobs. Key findings reveal that workers engaging in rigorous tasks—like case picking, manufacturing, order picking, and shipping—who utilized soft exosuits experienced a 60-85 % reduction in workplace injuries per site. These devices are transforming how we approach labor-intensive roles, allowing workers to lift between 10,000 and 60,000 pounds per day with enhanced safety and comfort. In our latest customer case study, check out how Ahold Delhaize distribution center associates are turning to wearable robotics to ease back strain and boost productivity! At Ahold Delhaize’s 600,000 square foot distribution center in Schodack, New York, nearly 200 associates work daily to load trucks heading for the 86 New England and New York based Hannaford stores.  These operations are labor intensive - the distribution center associates lift 50,000 pounds per day – often resulting in overexertion injuries and fatigue. The Verve Motion SafeLift exosuit was shown to significantly reduce the risk of overexertion injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, and fatigue. SafeLift users experienced a 61 percent reduction in lower back and hip injuries. During the program period, workers using the SafeLift exosuits at Schodack lifted more than 50 million pounds (the equivalent of 125 Boeing 747 airplanes!) With each associate typically moving 50,000 pounds in a single day, the SafeLift exosuit reduced the daily load by 20,000 pounds. With the lighter lift, workers reported they were able to execute tasks with less effort, leading to increased throughput and efficiency on the warehouse floor.
