This month we are spotlighting Amanda Zimmerman, who has been with VES-Artex for 5 ½ years. She is our Product Manager on our Product team. When she isn’t working, she enjoys camping, kayaking, and fishing. She also has a herd of beef cattle! In 2016 she purchased 4 Red Angus-Hereford cross heifer calves from her uncle and has been growing her herd on the farm she grew up at. Her interest in agriculture stems from her dad, uncle, and some family friends. During calving season, Amanda loves seeing the new babies and feels connected to her uncle who would be so proud of how far she has come. She feels fortunate to carry on his hard work and love for farming, while making memories with her dad. Her greatest accomplishment in farming is being able to connect people with the food they eat. She believes it is important for people to know that farms are often run by families and takes extra pride in taking good care of her animals and land. Recently, Amanda got married and became a stepparent and has been enjoying introducing them to farm life! She also has 2 dogs Whiskey and Ella that she loves taking on her adventures.

Here at the VES-Artex headquarters, we had a lot of fun celebrating Dairy Month! Our festivities included blindfolded cheese tasting, dairy trivia, milk flip cup, and we finished off the month with an ice cream party, costume contest, and door decorating contest!
