“All year long, our volunteer, grassroots legislative committee members are active in their states engaging policy issues that impact fellow veterans in their communities. Every September and March, they bring that same fire in their bellies that motivates them to effect change at home to Capitol Hill, where, as constituents, they voice the ‘why’ behind the VFW’s most pressing priorities.” – VFW National Commander Al Lipphardt #StillServing #FORVETERANS

Calling all Vietnam veterans: The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) is asking VFW members who deployed on land or at sea to the Vietnam theater (Vietnam, Cambodia, or Laos) between 1955 and 1975 to participate in a short interview about open-air burning (e.g., burn barrels, burn-out latrines, and burn pits). GAO’s report will be publicly available on its website and sent to Congress, VA, and DOD. The plan is to complete the phone interviews by the end of Monday, September 30th. We are grateful for our continued friendship and incredibly proud of the meaningful, important work the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency continues to do every day to bring our missing and unaccounted for home. Special thanks to Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency Director Kelly McKeague for stopping by the exhibit stage during #VFWConvention for a lively chat with VFW Communications and Public Affairs Director Rob Couture and Associate Director Brittany Dymond. #StillServing
