The Village is developing a new Comprehensive Plan and needs your help to create a gameplan that will take Tinley Park into the next 10 years and beyond! Weigh in on the community you love and share ideas about the future of Tinley Park during the Tinley Park Comprehensive Plan Open House from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive. The Village wants to hear from as many people as possible, because everyone's input matters! The Comprehensive Plan is a collective community blueprint that will help guide the next decade of development and decision-making in the Village. The plan isn't a code or an ordinance, but rather a roadmap for sustainable and balanced growth. The goal is to create a community-led vision for the next five to 10 years. The Village Board recently honored Tinley Park Police Officers Roberto Frias and Anthony Lefko for demonstrating exemplary care, compassion and expert response in saving a man’s life earlier this year. Officers Frias and Lefko responded to a driver experiencing a heart attack in the intersection of 159th Street and Oak Park Avenue on May 5. Upon arrival, both officers were met by frantic family members who were attempting first aid. The officers took immediate command of the scene while comforting family members. Officer Lefko performed chest compressions while Officer Frias used an AED. EMS arrived, continued treatment, and transported the victim to the hospital. Officer Frias relocated to the hospital and relayed updated health information to Officer Lefko to share with the victim’s spouse and young daughters, who were still at the scene. The victim was breathing upon arrival at the hospital and was later upgraded to stable. Officer Lefko made arrangements to secure the victim’s vehicle and ensure family members were able to get to the hospital. A very big thank-you to Officers Frias and Lefko for their life-saving actions!
