Danielle Cunningham, nurse manager of the CBHC and Julie Manzer, clinical supervisor at Vinfen Behavioral Health’s outpatient clinic, both in Lowell, attended an event at Lowell City Hall on August 23 to support and be present for the 2nd annual observance of International Opioid Awareness Day. The day brought together individuals and organizations who are in the fight against the opioid epidemic to celebrate their efforts and share stories of the impact substance use has on the community to increase awareness. Vinfen was honored to participate in the event and share information on our services that support Greater Lowell.

A: As a research assistant, there is nothing as fulfilling and rewarding as advocating for the mental and emotional well-being of others. Q: Why did you choose to join Run-4-Life? A: It’s a way for me to show my support. I am taking on the physical hurdles, the heat, rough and long roads, mountains, all for the mental and emotional well-being of the people we serve. I am hoping this brings hope, happiness, and all the great things the people we serve wish for and deserve. Q: What motivates you to run? A: The impact this event has on lives is huge. I witnessed that when I participated previously and that gives me more reason to wake up and train harder now, knowing very well that this is rewarding, lives are saved, education is imparted to many, and the general well-being of so many people will improve. Thank you, Idah, and best of luck during the race!

Young adults can receive training and mentorship to work with adults living with intellectual & developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries. This All Star Friday we’re celebrating two amazing program directors, Solomon Chum and Jeremiah Kargbo!
