We're a winner! A 2024 Skift Idea Awards winner! Visit Philadelphia won in the CREATIVE THINKERS Category: Marketing for our “In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union” campaign. The SKIFT Idea Awards are the travel industry’s most coveted prize, recognizing excellence in design, creativity and innovation. Our entry was among a select group of 23 projects hand-picked from a list of nearly 350 submissions from around the world. Fellow Idea Award winners this year include global brands like Southwest Airlines, Radisson Hotel Group and Sandals Resorts International. Our winning campaign showcases Philadelphia as the premier welcoming and inclusive destination in the U.S. in a way that only the birthplace of the nation can. The campaign was designed to offer a fresh take on Philadelphia’s commemoration of history and heritage months, including Black History Month, Asian American Heritage Month, Pride, Hispanic Heritage Month and more. This award wouldn't be possible without the tireless efforts of the entire integrated marketing team. Cheers to each member of the Visit Philly staff and our external partners who helped bring this initiative to life. #visitphilly #skiftideaawards #travel

This week our external affairs and social media teams hosted our inaugural Lunch & Learn: Social Media Insights for Philly Partners. Attendees learned how Visit Philadelphia uses social media to promote and amplify all there is to see and do in Philadelphia and discover how their organization can enhance its social media presence. Social media is essential to our mission of attracting visitors to the region. It's a way to connect with millions of people by not just telling, but showing residents and visitors everything we offer thanks to our partners and stakeholders. A special shout out to the entire team who helped bring this event together, including Jasmine Armstrong, Daecia-jamè Borgia, Eric Cortes, Farah Farag, Liana Dunnell and Jabari Cherry. If you're interested in attending a future session, please let us know in the comments or via direct message. #visitphilly #socialmedia #lunchandlearn 📸 : Hope Daluisio

Another one in the books! Visit Philadelphia headed to Austin earlier this month to attend the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) 2024 Convention, where we hosted an intimate media dinner at Aba. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with journalists from various outlets across the country, such as the Washington Post, CNN, NBC, CBS and ESPN. We attended insightful sessions on navigating the media landscape during an election year, elevating diverse stories and understanding data about the AAPI community as audiences and consumers. The panels were both inspiring and informative, and helped spark new ideas on how we can better promote diverse narratives about our great city. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in Austin! #AAJA24 #VisitPhilly #MediaDinner #DiverseStories

Earlier this July, Visit Philadelphia launched its first advertising campaign in the Atlanta metropolitan area, marking our reentry into a fly-market destination for the first time in years. To build momentum, the communications team hosted a media dinner attended by over 20 journalists and content creators. Guests previewed our advertising, heard from Visit Philadelphia staff and received Philadelphia goodies from Di Bruno Bros., Mural City Cellars and other local businesses. Philadelphia's own creative producer Yusuf Muhammad spoke about the cultural synergies between Philadelphia and Atlanta, and Nicholas Ducos, founder of Mural City Cellars, spoke about and the expanding nightlife, food and beverage scene in Fishtown. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationships with media and content creators in Atlanta and inviting them to Philadelphia to experience the city first-hand! #visitphilly #southernhospitality #brotherlylove

Visit Philadelphia took to Chicago last week for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) 2024 Convention, during which our team hosted a media dinner to connect with reporters based across the country and get a better sense of the stories they’re looking to share with their audiences. Journalists from The New York Times, HuffPost, The Wall Street Journal, CBS and beyond joined us at Kindling, a live-fire kitchen concept helmed by James Beard Award-winning Chef Jonathon Sawyer. It was an evening of meaningful discussion that only added to a robust lineup of conference programming, which centered around topics including misinformation, disinformation, artificial intelligence in journalism, social media in reporting, and more. Thank you to everyone who joined us during our time in the Windy City! #NABJ2024 #visitphilly #mediadinner

We are proud to announce that Visit Philadelphia has won a Ragan Communications and PR Daily Social Media & Digital Award for Best Instagram for our signature "Come for Philadelphia. Stay for Philly” campaign. Visit Philadelphia’s 2023 Instagram strategy integrated the Barbie movie, Taylor Swift, drones and more into our content, making it a winner for the category at the award ceremony. The Visit Philadelphia team pours a lot into promoting our region as a premiere destination to the world. We know how much work we put into that mission, but it's always meaningful when others recognize it too. We work with the best and we produce the best. Thank you for this recognition, and cheers to the entire team! #visitphilly #PRDailyAwards https://lnkd.in/eEziyaCC
