For many of the young people living at Vista Maria, their memories are different. Coming to us after trauma, loss, and neglect, school supplies weren’t part of the equation. Our friends at Lace Up Detroit recently partnered with WDIV Local 4 News/ClickOnDetroit to help students start the school year on the right foot—literally. Thanks to the generosity of Local 4 viewers, 3,100 pairs of shoes were donated. These new shoes play a crucial role in helping the youth at Vista Maria gain confidence and feel ready to tackle the school year ahead. We were thrilled to be featured in the Local 4 Detroit segment, which not only highlights the incredible efforts of Lace Up Detroit, but also showcases the significant impact these contributions have on youth at Vista Maria. Ford Academy, which provides year-round junior and high school education and academic services.
