Thanks to University of Vermont for this profile on CEO Art Papier MD and VisualDx.
As featured recently in Vermont Medicine magazine and the Larner website... “Capturing a Picture of Health“ by Janet Essman Franz Read more about Papier's story at go.uvm.edu/papier Larner alum Art Papier MD, '88, associate professor in dermatology and medical informatics at University of Rochester and dermatologist at University of Rochester Medical Center, envisioned and created a clinical decision tool from an idea that was sparked 40 years ago at a brown bag lunch lecture led by the late Lawrence Weed, M.D., a professor of medicine at UVM. The tool, VisualDx, visually shows, describes, and categorizes thousands of diseases. Used in clinics and medical schools throughout the nation and across the globe, it delivers time-sensitive, clinically relevant information for diagnosing and treating common and rare diseases and brings public health to the point of care. Keith Morley, M.D., #UVMLarnerMed assistant professor of medicine, uses VisualDx both in his clinical practice as a pediatric dermatologist and as a teacher of residents and medical students. Similarly, the Vermont Department of Health launched a pilot project in November 2022 to provide the technology to all clinicians, residents, and nurse practitioner and medical students in Vermont. The initiative aims to remove barriers between public health goals and busy medical professionals, to improve Vermont’s readiness for emerging infectious diseases. Proud to work with #CeraVe and its Care for All initiative on World Skin Day and beyond to support our frontline healthcare professionals and their patients with access to better dermatologic care.
Building a Healthier World, One Skin Check at a Time 🌎💙 This past World Skin Health Day on July 8th, #CeraVe proudly partnered with the The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and the International Society of Dermatology (ISD) to champion equitable skincare access for all. The Cerave team's efforts culminated in a powerful event at the Brooklyn Free Clinic in New York, where they: ✅ Offered free skin checks to nearly 750 attendees ✅ Provided interactive skin health education ✅ Equipped volunteers and medical students with vital training resources, including Visual DX access, to promote long-term skin health care. "CeraVe is committed to increasing access to therapeutic skincare for all people," said Tom Allison, Senior Vice President of Medical Dermatology Marketing at L’Oréal. "We [...] offer training, mentorship, grants, and in-kind products to help close this skin health gap and ensure everyone can access the care that they need." Together, we can create a world where healthy skin is a right, not a privilege. Congratulations to the teams that put together this amazing event! #WorldSkinHealthDay #SkincareForAll #Dermatology #HealthEquity #CeraVeCares #CreateTheBeautyThatMovesTheWorld #MyPeopleMyPurpose
