Great update from our friends at NABIP on mental health parity! #legislation #compliance #mentalhealth #mentalwellbeing #wellness
Exciting News! The final rule on mental health parity has been officially released, marking a major milestone in our ongoing advocacy for equitable treatment of mental health and substance use disorder benefits. Effective January 2025, this rule will eliminate barriers such as prior authorizations, ensuring that mental health services are covered as fairly as physical health treatments. This is a huge leap forward in expanding access to care for millions and closing the long-standing gaps in mental health coverage. A special thank you to Jessica Waltman, Dede Kennedy, and the Mental Health Working Group. Your leadership, dedication, and contributions were pivotal, and NABIP's influence is evident throughout the final rule. We also extend our deepest gratitude to our Government Affairs Team and Legislative Council for their hard work in helping drive this over the finish line. While we celebrate this significant achievement, the work is far from over. Let’s use this victory to fuel our continued progress forward because #MentalHealthMatters! 🔗 News Release: https://ow.ly/tCZz50Tni8w #NABIP #MentalHealthAdvocacy #ParityRule #HealthcareReform Bianca Saul, JD, MBA, SHRM-SCP, Carmen Ponce, Gary V.
