The Medal of Honor isn’t awarded for suffering; it is awarded for heroism and is the highest honor anyone can get in the country. Rather than just apologize to Veterans for demeaning their sacrifice, Donald Trump keeps continuing to argue that it is somehow “better” to get a Presidential Medal of Freedom, which he’s given to campaign donors and supporters, like Rush Limbaugh (a draft dodger) and Miriam Edelson. We said last week he does this because he hates Veterans and their sacrifice because it makes him look so small and weak in comparison. These comments only bolster that argument. Worse, not one Republican will get out there and denounce this. Not one of them will stand up for Veterans. It’s maddening and pathetic.
