Carolina Ilic, MCP, AICP, Principal Transportation Planner at VRPA Technologies, had the pleasure of attending the WTS CenCal Chapter Monthly Luncheon, featuring a fantastic presentation by Laura Gromis, Chair of the Active Transportation Advisory Committee for the City of Fresno. The topic, "Active Transportation: Connecting Communities in the Central Valley," emphasized the importance of Human Centered Multi-Modal Transportation Systems in fostering sustainability, equity, and health. Laura shared insights on the City of Fresno’s Active Transportation Plan and Vision Zero effort and the importance of developing and implementing active transportation plans, safe routes to schools, complete streets, protected bike paths, and educational and encouragement programs in jurisdictions across the valley to achieve multi-modal transportation systems that work for everyone. We're excited to see these efforts in action, helping to create more connected and vibrant communities throughout the Central Valley! 🚴♂️🚶♀️ #ActiveTransportation #Sustainability #Community #VisionZero #WTSLuncheon #Fresno #CentralValley #CompleteStreets #VRPATechnologies

Our President, Georgiena Vivian, recently presented to the Sanger and Reedley Rotaries about transportation planning and financing in Fresno County! We covered everything from Federal to local levels, emphasizing the importance of being a Self Help County and the benefits of Measure C on our transportation system. The Rotarians asked great questions, making it a very engaging session. Special thanks to Lee Delap for the invite and it was wonderful to see Nicole Zieba, Rodney Horton, and other amazing Rotarians! And, of course, the lunches were excellent! 👏 #TransportationPlanning #MeasureC #FresnoCounty #RotaryClub #CommunityEngagement
