I encourage you to check it out! It's interesting to hear that Sam had a common knee-jerk reaction that many have when first coming across WTTA, which is, "Is this a Trojan horse anti-gun organization pretending to be 2A?" This is an obstacle we face every week when we try to reach new people. I'm also glad to see another organization question Red Flag laws as we have in our position statement: https://lnkd.in/gXbKJhzs. While they are often mentioned in the best-case scenarios, saving lives. We encounter many individuals who refuse to seek professional help because of them. In our informal survey last Fall, 28% of 361 gun owners responded that Red Flag Laws made them hesitant to seek out professional mental health services. This Fall, we aim to reach a broader audience with the help of some partnerships to increase the responses to this survey. We look forward to continuing what we do, and that's only possible from the partners and individuals who donate to our cause. Thank you again to Sam for finding various ways to support our organization.

We lose 74 people a day to suicide by firearm. That is more than the worst mass shooting in the history of the United States of America. Suicide prevention is something the 2A community should own and develop their solutions for, not relying on the healthcare community, who might not fully understand our culture. Our Mental Health Plan is not meant to be an intervention tool but a tool for prevention. While our Founder, Michael Sodini has been advising gun owners to consider developing a Mental Health Plan that is right for them and their situation, we thought it would be helpful to provide some questions to consider including in your mental health plan. Gun owners are some of the most prepared people on the planet. Many know every detail of how they would defend their home if an intruder broke in, with variations depending on points of entry. Our goal is to bring that same level of preparedness to mental health, which, statistically, is far more likely to impact us negatively.
