We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our first racing camp at the newly opened Great Lakes Warrior Sailing Clubhouse! Over the past 4 days, our dedicated sailors trained for an impressive 20+ hours, honing their skills on the water. A big thank you to the veterans and community partners supporting Warrior Sailing that have shown up to help with the final push at the Great Lakes clubhouse. Camps begin on July, 10th and it takes "all hands on deck" to get these big projects completed. In addition thank you to everyone who showed up on Saturday for the grand opening of the Clubhouse. We had an amazing time at the latest Warrior Sailing event! Watching our veterans and their friends/families conquer the waves and navigate the sails was truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone who participated and made it a success.

This past week the Warrior Sailing Team visited the San Diego Yacht Club for a basic training camp. The Warrior Sailing Program Basic Training Camp is focused on introducing the skill of sailing to wounded, ill and injured service members. In a fun but intense 3-day camp, participants are taught the basics of sailing and sailboat racing. It’s about teamwork, self-reliance and the fun-factor. The program is open to wounded, ill or injured service members and veterans of all branches of the U.S military. The program is available to all persons within the targeted audience regardless of age, gender and race. Learn more about our programs by visiting www.warriorsailing.org

On this Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten. Let us pause to reflect on their service and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave everything for the freedoms we hold dear. Today, we stand united in remembrance and gratitude. For over a decade the Warrior Sailing team has been providing opportunities for warriors to connect with their fellow service members, and create new connections through sailing. Today we also honor those that we have been to lucky to know and can’t physically sail with us today. But we remember and honor.

We could not be more proud of our Charleston Race Week Team! Thank you to all of our Warriors who joined us on the water and thank you to all of our supporters for making the event possible. For many Warriors this event is their first experience to the racing world. The pursuit class is the perfect opportunity for everyone to get a taste of starting with other boats and racing around a course. We can't wait to see everyone on the water again soon!
