The late Jim Johnson’s friends, family, and colleagues gathered in the Crystal Ballroom last Friday, March 29, to celebrate his life and honor his memory. Jim served as the WAC’s President & CEO from 1996–2012. His community-building efforts made the Club a special place for members and team members alike. Jim was an unforgettable steward of the WAC and he will be greatly missed.

In just over 48 hours I'll be taking the stage in this year's Seattle Dances. The overall learning experience from dance moves, to having the opportunity to educate, listen, and ultimately have meaningful discussions about the mission of Plymouth Housing has been so rewarding and fulfilling. I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to those who have kindly supported this journey! Especially USI Insurance Services. Thrilled with the support, appreciate any last minute votes for me here: https://lnkd.in/g7tYM-dj Here's a sneak preview - Shalom Suniula & Rebecca Savoca's Rehearsal Video - Seattle Dances 2024 (youtube.com)

Seattle lost a landmark leader this week. We are saddened to announce the passing, on February 28, of Jim Johnson, 1996–2012 President & CEO of the Washington Athletic Club. Jim’s years leading the WAC pushed the Club to a higher standard than ever before. Under his leadership, the WAC renovated spaces, expanded operations, and strengthened community partnerships that continue to this day. But Jim’s greatest contribution was his emphasis on culture. His love of the WAC translated into a focus on team, high standards, and working together to provide great member experiences. A member of the WAC prior to taking the reins, Jim’s relationship with team members and respect and appreciation for their work shone above all else. The Johnson Lobby Lounge is named in his honor. Please join us in honoring Jim and sending our thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones. Thank you, Jim, for everything.
