This week concluded my amazing summer internship with Waste Connections as their Social Media Intern! I am filled with immense gratitude for all that I have learned and experienced over the past few months. During my internship, I had the pleasure to create compelling graphics to share across social channels for the upcoming months, track social media engagement to identify high-performing campaigns, and brainstorm and research ideas for future content. I also had the opportunity to have hands-on experience and shadow a video shoot for Angel Reach, one of the many beneficiaries of Waste Connections’ Annual Golf Classic for Kids. I want to extend a special thank you to Camille Lyons and Allison Lach for their support and valuable guidance this summer. They both provided me a safe space to let my curiousity and creativity flourish. They truly made my experience the best and I wouldn’t have learned so much without them! Overall, I am very fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such an encouraging team. Additionally, thank you to everyone at Waste Connections for making this internship such a rewarding experience. I am excited to return for my last year at UT Austin with the valuable knowledge that I have gained this summer! 🤘🏼

Thank you to our team members for volunteering at The Abundant Harvest Kitchen to help Chef Joe Macri prepare 200 meals for families and veterans in the area. The Abundant Harvest Kitchen not only provides free meals for those in need, has a food pantry, ESL classes, a Legal Aid Clinic, Abundant Wellness classes, and a great workout facility, but also has one of the best bistros serving amazing food to the public. Stop by if you are ever hungry in Spring, Texas!

This past Saturday, our amazing team in Palestine, Texas, partnered with East Texas Sheltering Arms Coalition and took thousands of products given to them by vendors like Amazon and Burlington Coat Factory to donate them to over 200 people in need. Some of the same people were back in the dining hall on Sunday, where our team serves lunch to the homeless and those in need every Sunday. We are so proud of the selfless work done here. Way to go, team!
