Students from Wayzata High School had the amazing opportunity to work with the American Composers Forum and the Minnesota Music Educators Association for their session: Connecting Educators to New Chamber Music Written by Black Composers. A Wayzata High School student string quartet premiered a three-movement string quartet by Emmy Award-winning interdisciplinary artist, and Minnesotan, PaviElle French. They also performed a string quartet movement by acclaimed guitarist and composer Thomas Flippin. Wayzata High School flute students performed two duets by one of the leading composers of her generation, Valerie Coleman. 🎶🎶🎶

Recently, students from Wayzata High School's Compass program held their Compass Showcase, sharing their work and experience with families and mentors. Here's a quick recap of the event. Compass is a profession-based learning program for career-focused juniors and seniors. Students who enroll in the program earn high school and college credit while exploring career paths and working side-by-side with professionals in the workplace. Courses are designed and taught in collaboration with business leaders in our community and faculty from North Hennepin Community College #WeAreWayzata #futureleaders
