Towards a Deeper Understanding: Navigating Forward and Making a Way Out of No Way. In Orange County, we are shaping together an OC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Framework and calling on our businesses and corporations to join our community effort. Groundswell partnered with The Black Chamber of Orange County to present Navigating Forward: Leading the way on diversity, equity, and inclusion As often, we get distracted when events turns to the divisive disruptive but we need to remember the words of The Honorable Representative John Lewis: "Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful. Be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime." The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC has the words "Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope" engraved into the side of its statue. The time has come for the business community to listen and listen deeply to the concerns of our communities and encourage positive changes. The Black Chamber created an Action Plan that creates a framework for safe, equitable and inclusive public and private businesses to implement meaningful practices. #OCBSN #ocblacksolidaritynetwork
