Westchase District is addressing the issue of its unhoused persons through a new partnership with the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (CFTH). This collaboration focuses on connecting unhoused individuals in the Westchase area with essential resources and guiding them toward permanent housing solutions. CFTH, designated as Houston's homeless response coordinator since 2012, uses a strategic approach to link individuals with a network of service providers. In Westchase District, CFTH has already started outreach efforts in areas where the unhoused frequently gather. The outreach team from CFTH visited these areas at various times, including at night, to build trust and connect individuals with resources. They found that many of the individuals were already receiving services or in the process of securing housing, while others were newly identified. Another key step is providing education and an overview of homeless response to Westchase District stakeholders and businesses. The first example of this took place during a meeting of the Westchase District Public Safety Alliance on August 27, with Kelly Young as the guest speaker (pictured). The next steps for the partnership include regular engagement with unsheltered individuals and collaboration with local nonprofits and churches. This issue won’t be resolved overnight, especially with the current backlog of people waiting for housing. However, we believe this partnership will guide the unhoused in Westchase District to essential resources and maintain the safety of our community. #WestchaseDistrict #HoustonCommunity #EndHomelessness #HoustonCares #CommunitySupport #HoustonNonprofits #HOU #HousingFirst #HomelessOutreach #CoalitionForTheHomeless #HoustonHelp #HTXCommunity #PublicSafety #HomelessnessSolutions #HoustonLiving #SupportLocal #HoustonNonprofits #HoustonInitiatives #HoustonTX

The Westchase District team is looking to actively engage with real estate professionals through informative broker presentations. This summer, our team has already presented to Partners Real Estate, Avison Young and the Commercial Real Estate Research Forum. "The CRE research community was long overdue for an update on Westchase District, especially given the area's recent office leasing momentum," said JLL's Rachel Alexander, who serves as president of the CRERF. "Irma, Sherry and team were great hosts, taking us through the District's detailed efforts around mobility, safety, and beautification, along with the long-term vision for Westchase." We are happy to either come to your location or host you at ours. We provide a brief 30-minute presentation about Westchase District, answer any questions you might have and offer a free breakfast or lunch. These presentations aim to give brokers valuable insights for assisting clients who might be considering relocating their business. The information we provide helps brokers guide their clients effectively, especially those looking to move their operations to West Houston, which has been leading the office leasing market. Westchase District has seen significant growth recently, with major companies like Apache, Bechtel and Noble Corp. all moving to the area. If you are interested in scheduling a broker presentation, please reach out to Chris Nelson at [email protected].
