About us

Westcare is a not-for-profit organisation that empowers individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment, training, accommodation, and support services. From humble beginnings in 1947, we've proudly grown to become a leading Social Enterprise and registered Australian Disability Enterprise. Our mission—to ensure everyone can live life to the full—continues to be the driving force behind everything we do. Breakfast with the 2024 Australians of the Year 🙌  We were absolutely thrilled to attend the Inspiring Australians Breakfast presented by Auspire – Australia Day Council WA in partnership with Cancer Council WA. The event commenced the Tour of Honour for 2024 Australians of the Year, Professors Georgina Long AO and Richard Scolyer AO.  Both groundbreaking researchers at Melanoma Institute Australia, Georgina and Richard shared their stories of witnessing the deadly effects of Australians’ age-old obsession with “getting a tan” —a culture that has led to melanoma becoming Australia’s most prominent cancer.  Georgina and Richard have dedicated their careers to saving lives from cancer, curing more than 50% of Australians with advanced melanoma.  Their message to all Australians? Prevention is always better than cure. Every 30 minutes, an Australian is diagnosed with melanoma, making it the most common cancer in Australians aged 20-39. Westcare is honoured to support Auspire, with our experienced Westcare Print division providing printing services for this and other events this year. #Westcare #Auspire #AustraliansOfTheYear

Congratulations to Georgia Challis for winning the Westcare NAIDOC week art competition. Georgia's use of earthy tones and symbols representing the earth and country was a stand out for our CEO Andrew Larter. Her art will be printed by our print division and presented in the upcoming weeks.
