On June 7, 1999, President Bill Clinton signed Executive Order 13125 establishing the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Over the course of 25 years and five presidential administrations, the size and scope of the Initiative have evolved. But the full story of how it came to be has rarely been told. 🎥 Watch: https://lnkd.in/g4w9n6Bx 👉 Learn more: aanhpiheritage.gov CREDITS: Narrator: Lisa Ling Researchers: Andrew Peng, Carol Paik, Jamie Lok, and Rebecca Lee Writers: Andrew Peng and Rebecca Lee Producers: Rebecca Lee and Carol Paik Editors: Isaiah Headen and Brent Legum Levenson Sound Design: George Morris Art Director: Jessica Johnson Motion Designer: May McKernan Archival Producer: Eurie Chung IMG Staff: Melissa DeSouza, Nick Mueller, and Steven Yerman WHIAANHPI Staff: Andrew Peng, Jamie Lok, Esther Youngwon Ham DC Crew: Qinling Li, Arthur Nazaryan, and Greg Adkins Atlanta Crew: Kristian Melom, Stephen Mucci, Monica Villavicencio and Evan Williams Closing Music: "I Belong" by MILCK SPECIAL THANKS TO: The White House Office of Digital Strategy The White House Photo Office The Office of the Vice President The Office of the United States Trade Representative The White House Office of Public Engagement The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, White House Liaison Division The William J. 🎉 Last week, the WHIAANHPI team traveled to Houston to learn about the work being done on the ground in Texas and connect community members with federal resources. This engagement was part of President Biden’s Investing in America tour, and we are grateful to our agency partners including those at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) who highlighted how the President’s agenda is growing the economy from the middle-out and bottom-up, not top down. 🤝 Thank you to everyone who (braved the rain!) and helped to make our July 26 event a success — our community members, small business owners, and nonprofit leaders who are all working to expand opportunity for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. ⌨ Subscribe to our newsletter to learn where we're traveling to next: https://lnkd.in/g_XFVZVx 📷 Quy Tran for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders
