WORKING FOR YOU IN PEPIN COUNTY: A resurfacing project is underway on WIS 25 near Durand to provide a smoother and safer driving surface for all motorists. Crews are resurfacing a 13.5-mile stretch of WIS 25 from just southwest of Durand to WIS 35 North. Other project improvements include: • Culvert cleaning and replacement • Guardrail replacement • New pavement markings “This roadway needed a refreshing as it’s a section of highway that is heavily traveled,” WisDOT Northwest Region Project Manager Tyson said. WORKING FOR YOU IN COLUMBIA COUNTY: Construction is complete on the multiyear I-39/90/94 and WIS 60 interchange project near Lodi. The project, started in 2022, improved safety, traffic operations and drive quality. Improvements included replacing the interstate bridges on I-39/90/94 at WIS 60, reconfiguring the existing ramps into a diamond interchange with roundabouts at the terminals, and reconstructing WIS 60 between Sunset Drive and Pine Hollow Road. Project leader Ryan said he’s proud of the work from his team and the project is designed to last for many years to come. #WorkingForYou

WORKING FOR YOU IN WASHINGTON COUNTY: Crews are continuing their work along WIS 60 (Main Street), between County P and Eagle Drive, in the village of Jackson to improve safety and efficiency. A new roundabout is being constructed at the intersection of WIS 60 and Eagle Drive. Other project improvements include: • Resurfacing entire project corridor • Updated traffic signals • Updating curb ramps to ADA standards • New signing and pavement markings “This project will ensure the people who live in Jackson and the surrounding communities have a safe, smooth, and functional roadway for decades to come,” said WisDOT project manager Kurt. After using input from the community from public involvement meetings, an agreement was reached to maintain eastbound traffic of WIS 60 while construction is ongoing. Westbound WIS 60 traffic is being detoured via County G, County NN, County P, County PV, and US 45. The project is scheduled for completion by late summer 2024. 70 BRIDGE INSPECTIONS IN 60 HOURS: Last month, WisDOT staff inspected 70 bridges in the Wausau area in two and a half days. Bridge inspectors document the condition of the bridge and any maintenance needs, to ensure the structures are safe for the traveling public. WisDOT staff inspect every bridge in the state every two years. Over 25 crews participated in the inspections, including five interns who gained hands-on experience and training for future inspections.

DYK? The 32-mile Elroy-Sparta Trail was the first “Rails to Trails” segment in the United States. After the Chicago Northwestern railroad abandoned their service route in Juneau and Monroe Counties, the tracks were removed in 1964. The corridor was soon bought by the state of Wisconsin to form the nation’s first-ever rail trail. According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), an estimated 60,000 people use the multi-use trail annually. #ThrowbackThursday

WORKING FOR YOU IN OUTAGAMIE COUNTY: A multiple-intersection reconstruction project is in progress on WIS 54 in Seymour to increase safety and efficiency. Two roundabouts are being built at the intersections of WIS 54 and County C and WIS 54 and WIS 55. Crews are also resurfacing and milling WIS 54 and converting the four-lane road into a three-lane road with a two-way left turn lane.
