  • We are so honored to have received a Journalism Award from the Los Angeles Press Club on Saturday at their 66th annual event, “honoring the best reporting in Southern California.” 10 DAYS IN WATTS, our 4 part docuseries, Co-produced with @PBS SOCAL (KCET) is one we are all so proud to have worked on.  Seen here with our editor and a producer, Rick Pratt.   So many people to thank— to the Watkins Family, Mudtown Farms, and the Citizens of Watts who shared their stories, profound gratitude.  Thank you to Juan Fernando Devis who made it possible.     We are thrilled and honored that our series, 10 DAYS IN WATTS has been nominated by the LA Press Club for SIX Journalism Awards. Co-produced with KCET (now PBS SoCal | KCET) the series continues to air in Los Angeles, but now also being seen in PBS affiliate stations, around the country. "An urban garden called MudTown Farms is about to open in Watts, built and nurtured by dedicated residents who see more than economic hardship, social inequality and environmental racism in their future. Over a ten-day period, the series chronicles three generations of the Watkins family, as well as students, farmers, and community leaders committed to healing past social injustices." Thank you to the LA Press Club, and to our extraordinary creative team who did the hard work to deliver it, the astounding development team at KCET, including Juan Devis who encouraged this project and helped make it happen, and to Tim Watkins and the citizens of Watts, who opened their hearts and told their stories.
