Setting Boundaries at Work and Home: How to Create a Healthy Work-Life Balance Finding a balance between work and personal life can feel like a juggling act, especially for women who wear multiple hats daily. Setting clear boundaries is key to maintaining your well-being, productivity, and happiness. But how do you do it effectively? Define Your Non-Negotiables: Identify what matters most to you—be it family dinners, weekend downtime, or evening workouts. Make these a priority and communicate them clearly to those around you. Set Clear Work Hours: Stick to a schedule that works for you and your family. Don’t be afraid to log off when the workday is over—your time is valuable! Learn to Say No: It’s okay to decline tasks that don’t align with your priorities or overwhelm you. Saying "no" is a powerful form of self-care. Create a Designated Workspace: If you’re working from home, set up a space that is solely for work. This helps to mentally separate work from personal time. Practice Self-Care Daily: Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Make time for activities that recharge you—whether that’s a morning walk, a hobby, or simply relaxing with a good book. By setting and maintaining boundaries, you create space for what truly matters and bring your best self to every aspect of life. Let’s embrace balance together! What boundaries have you set to achieve a better work-life balance? Share your tips below! 💬👇

"DWELL" Gretchen M. Igou with IGO Solutions Maintain a Seasonal Rotation-Step #3 To keep your closet from becoming overcrowded, consider maintaining a seasonal rotation. Twice a year, as the seasons change, swap out your clothing to ensure that you only have items appropriate for the current weather in your closet. Store off-season clothing in bins on top shelves of closet or under your bed to free up space for the clothes you'll be wearing. Adopt a Color-Coordinated System-Step #4 An efficient way to organize your clothes closet is to adopt a color-coordinated system. Arrange your clothing by color within each category (e.g., shirts, pants). This not only makes your closet look visually appealing but also makes it easier to find specific items quickly. An organized clothes closet can save you time and reduce the stress of getting dressed each day. By decluttering your wardrobe, investing in storage solutions, maintaining a seasonal rotation, and adopting a color-coordinated system, you can transform your messy closet into a well-organized space that simplifies your daily routine and allows you to enjoy your clothing collection to the fullest. So, roll up your sleeves and start organizing your closet today! Gretchen Igou

"DWELL"- Step 2 Gretchen M. Igou and IGO Organize To keep your clothes closet organized, invest in some storage solutions that make the most of your available space. Here are a few ideas: a. Shelves and Cubbies: Install shelves or cubbies to store folded clothes, shoes, and accessories. Use bins or baskets to keep smaller items contained. b. Hanging Rods: Double up on hanging rods to maximize vertical space. You can hang shorter items like shirts and blouses above longer items like dresses and coats. c. Drawer Dividers: Use drawer dividers to keep under garments, socks, and accessories neatly separated and easy to find. Gretchen Igou d. Hooks and Pegs: Install hooks or pegs on the inside of closet doors or walls to hang bags, scarves, belts, and hats. e. Clear Bins or Shoe Organizers: Use clear bins or shoe organizers to store shoes, making it easy to see what you have at a glance. f. Use all available Vertical Space: This could be by using hanging sweater storage (use for sweaters, tee shirts, tank tops, leggings, work out pants, shorts...)

"DWELL" It’s all in the Details... with Gretchen M. Igou IGO Organize! A cluttered and disorganized clothes closet can be a daily source of frustration. Searching for that perfect outfit in a sea of clothing can be time-consuming and stressful. Fortunately, with a little effort and some smart organization strategies, you can transform your messy closet into a well-organized oasis. We'll share today four tips to help you achieve a neatly organized clothes closet. DeClutter Your Wardrobe-Step 1 The first step in creating an organized clothes closet is to declutter your wardrobe. Over time, we tend to accumulate clothing items that we no longer wear or need. Take some time to go through your clothes and decide what to keep, what to donate, and what to discard. Here's a simple process to follow: a. Start by taking everything out of your closet, sorting into categories (e.g., shirts, pants, dresses) and laying it out where you can see it all. b. As you go through each sorted category make decisions on: keep, donate, and discard. Be ruthless in your decisions. If you haven't worn something in the last year, it's time to let it go. Self Care: #3 Create an Evening Ritual for Relaxation As the days remain warm and the school year begins, it’s important to carve out time in the evening to unwind and reset for the next day. Cool Down Your Space: As the sun sets, open windows to let in the evening breeze or use a fan to circulate air. Creating a cool, comfortable environment can help you relax. Wind Down with the Kids: Incorporate a family wind-down routine that signals the end of the day. This could be a quiet reading time, a short walk after dinner, or a shared moment to talk about the day. It’s a great way to connect with your kids and help them transition into a restful state. Personal Relaxation Time: Once the kids are settled, dedicate at least 30 minutes to yourself. Whether it’s a warm bath, watching your favorite show, or practicing a short meditation, this time is essential for decompressing and preparing for the next day. By establishing an evening ritual, you’ll ensure that you’re recharging your mind and body, ready to face another busy day with calm and focus.

SELF CARE: #2 Stay Hydrated and Energized Throughout the Day With the heat still present in August, staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining your energy levels, especially with the added demands of back-to-school activities. Water, Water, Water: Keep a reusable water bottle with you at all times and set reminders to take sips throughout the day. Adding slices of citrus or cucumber can make it more refreshing and encourage you to drink more. Hydrating Foods: Incorporate water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumber, and berries into your meals and snacks. These not only keep you hydrated but also provide essential vitamins and nutrients. Midday Energy Boost: If you find yourself flagging in the afternoon, opt for a healthy, hydrating snack like a piece of fruit, a handful of nuts, or a yogurt. A short walk in the shade can also help revive your energy. By prioritizing hydration, you’ll feel more vibrant and ready to tackle the demands of the day, from work meetings to school pick-ups.
