Photos from the Parkinson Ready kick off training with JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. The trainers for this program, Shelly Yu, Education & Support Services Coordinator and Neurophysiotherapist at Parkinson Society British Columbia and Larry Gifford, WPC Alumni Ambassador and Co-Founder of PD Avengers, did a great job educating the JW Marriott staff on Parkinson's disease. The “Parkinson Ready” program aims to reduce stigma and enhance support for individuals living with Parkinson's disease (PD) by training key leaders in the safety, transportation, and service industries in Vancouver. The World Parkinson Coalition Congress together with PD Avengers, Parkinson Society British Columbia, and supported by AbbVie announced the launch of its Make the City #ParkinsonReady program, that kicked off August 9, with additional trainings taking place on November 25 and 26 in downtown Vancouver.
