FACES OF WATER: We're excited to feature Michael Staley, our operations superintendent in the Central Operating Area, as this quarter's Face of Water! In November 2011, Mike encountered a significant near miss incident at a job site that forever changed his outlook on safety in the workplace. Today we celebrate #WomensEqualityDay as an important date because it commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. #FunFact: The 19th Amendment was actually passed by Congress on June 4, 1919 and ratified on August 18, 1920, but it wasn’t certified until eight days later on August 26.

Tomorrow is #NationalToiletPaperDay! The average person in the U.S. uses 100 rolls of toilet paper per year and the average household flushes about 80,000 sheets annually. West Virginia American Water is proud to announce the recipients of our 12th annual Firefighting Support Grant program. 🚧🚧🚧Our construction team is back at it this week working on an infrastructure initiative to replace approximately 1,140 feet of water main on the West Side of Charleston! We had a great time at Back to School Night at Live on the Levee! Thanks to West Virginia American Water's partnership with the City of Charleston and the United Way of Central West Virginia, hundreds of children from the Kanawha Valley enjoyed free games, activities and backpacks filled with school supplies. A big thanks to everyone who participated for making it a fun evening as everyone prepares for the new school year. Our misting tent was also a hit, keeping everyone cool on such a hot night!
