Promoting well-being for BIPOC communities by creating spaces for sharing and listening to stories.
About us
The Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization (YEBO) is a Colorado-based nonprofit media organization specializing in social-emotional learning through storytelling. We serve BIPOC communities across Colorado, including youth (14-24 years old) and adults from those communities. Our mission is to promote personal and communal well-being in BIPOC communities by creating spaces for sharing and listening to stories. We envision communities where youth and adults forge meaningful, healthy relationships through storytelling to find healing and purpose.

Last night I had the great pleasure to hear phenomenal stories of friendship from Francisco Martinez, Jasmine Villalobos-Valles, MSOL, Jessica Quintana, Thaw Sue, Belén García, and Jose Chavez Quezada. They told stories as a part of Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization's Mission 1477, a statewide initative for BIPOC youth to use storytelling as a way to grow their agency and well-being. The stories were part of a live-pop up event in collaboration with the MSU Denver Classroom to Career Hub and will become a podcast. For us in the Classroom to Career Hub this collaboration puts a microphone to our student's stories. The storytellers made me laugh, they made me cry, and they made me reflect on the power of friendship. Please check out the great work of Cristina G. Chacon and the rest of the YEBO Fam! I'll be sharing again once the podcast is live!

Our fall season was a fantastic ride! Through three Story Pop-Up events, we supported storytellers from four community partners to perform 28 live stories. Over 175 audience members from 20 different zip codes attended our events this fall. I'm grateful for our team and our incredible partners in helping to create spaces where community members can find healing and empowerment through storytelling. We'll dive more into our impact next week, along with another big announcement. So stay tuned. YEBO! #ourvoices
