Our BAM students from Shields Elementary School had an amazing summer field trip to The Forge Adventure Park, where they climbed and ziplined! It was a fantastic opportunity for students and counselors to bond through team-building activities. At Youth Guidance, we love providing safe and fun experiences for our youth during their summer break. #SafeSummer #BAM #YG100

About us
Youth Guidance creates and implements school-based programs that enable at-risk children to overcome obstacles, focus on their education and, ultimately, to succeed in school and in life. We believe that success is realized as students stay on track to graduate elementary and high school, develop the skills and abilities needed to make positive choices in their lives, and develop resilience assets such as self-efficacy, anger management, and positive values so that they may live successful, self-sufficient lives as adults. Our specific and strategically developed delivery areas are: Counseling & Prevention (BAM, WOW, STRIVE) Community & After-School (Parent/Family Engagement, Full-Service Community Schools Community Learning Centers and Extended Day & Enrichment Programs), and Career Readiness & Success. Youth Guidance directly serves more than 14,000 youth while touching the lives of many parents, teachers and community members. More than 95% of youth served are African American and Hispanic/Latino. Youth Guidance is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). To learn more, please visit our website at www.youth-guidance.org.

YG was thrilled to have the voices of our alumni and BAM and WOW participants elevated at the Mayor’s Office Youth Budget Engagement Roundtable this week at the Garfield Park Conservatory where they were able to share their perspective on what investments should be made to make our communities stronger. We appreciate Mayor Brandon Johnson’s invitation to make sure our youth’s vision for our city and their communities is reflected in the city’s budget priorities. #BAMWOW #YouthVoice #YG100 #ChicagoYouth

Youth Guidance is grateful to the City of Chicago Dept. of Family & Support Services and My CHI My Future. (@MCMF) youth initiative for investing in our youth on Chicago’s west side. We were thrilled to team up for a Community Block Party in the Garfield neighborhood where youth, families, churches, CAPS and other partners came together to celebrate and collaborate in keeping hope alive. Healing trauma, pain, and addressing disinvestment in our communities truly requires a collective effort, and Youth Guidance is proud to be part of that effort. #Chicago #Community #HealingCommunities #YG100

Youth Guidance’s was honored to join Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for an incredible panel discussion at Accenture’s Rooted & Rising: Cultivating Community Leadership event. The panel explored actionable strategies to promote equity and inclusion in mentorship to create tomorrow's leaders and problem-solvers. Thank you, Accenture, for hosting such an inspiring panel and a special shout-out to WOW’s Director of Program Administration, Shykira Richards, and WOW Alum, Naharay Lopez, for representing Youth Guidance on the panel! #CommunityHealing #YG100 #WorkingonWomanhood

Our WOW students had a fantastic experience at the Sculpture workshop at Awakenings! They wrote heartfelt letters to those who have supported their healing journey and created sculptures of their faces from photos. The process was challenging, but they were amazed at what they were able to achieve! 🌟✨ We are so proud of them! #WOW #WorkingonWomanhood #YG100

Honored to curate safe and brave spaces for our young girls to be authentically felt, seen and heard in our Working on Womanhood programs here in Dallas.
Check out this incredible Mental Health Day event organized by WOW's Youth Council! 20 WOW (Working on Womanhood) students had a blast with activities like yoga, journaling, and making vision boards. Youth Gudiance's Aba Sherre lead a yoga session and taught scent and bracelet making. The girls also learned more about managing stress and anxiety. We would like to thank The Agrosy Foundation for their support in making this event a success! 🌟 #WOW #100YearsofYG #WOWcouncil #Empowerment #Healingcommunities #MentalHealthDay
