FIM Frontline – KJ and Cyber Meet Kimberly Jackson, or KJ, Financial Information Management’s (FIM) face behind cyber. KJ joined FIM earlier this year and serves as the Cybersecurity Lead and Program Information Systems Security Manager (P-ISSM). Her days are a strategic blend of innovation and protection, where she imbeds cybersecurity into Financial Management (FM) systems, ensuring that they are safeguarded against evolving cyber threats. A typical day in the life of our cyber champion requires a great deal of balance. KJ focuses on strategic initiatives that involve defining, establishing, and building cybersecurity programs and processes. KJ’s tactical execution of cyber initiatives involves advising on system development projects that ensure cybersecurity is fully integrated into detailed processes from conception through sustainment. Her mission? To empower the FM community with secure tools to execute their work without hiccups, making cybersecurity an ally, not an obstacle. When looking forward to the future of cyber in Army FM, KJ emphasized that modernization isn't just a buzzword; it's essential to cybersecurity. Divesting from legacy systems and networks is where cybersecurity can consolidate processes and apply the necessary due diligence on securing our data, ensuring Army systems are resilient and adhere to the latest requirements. Although human decision making will always play a role in cyber, KJ envisions a future where automation and AI are brought in to expedite incident response and threat detection, shifting from a reactive to proactive approach to installing security measures.  KJ is passionate about securing financial systems. She's dedicated to addressing the assumptions about cybersecurity, proving that it can coexist with user-friendly, quality tools in a modern, secure environment. She is steering the FM community towards a future where cybersecurity is not an afterthought but a foundational element. KJ’s unwavering commitment to cybersecurity is not just protecting data; it's fortifying the future of Army FM.  #FIMForward #ArmyTransformation #ArmyFinance
