  • Automated Real-Time Vehicle Detection for Heterogeneous Traffic

American Society of Civil Engineers, Indian Section

Intelligent Transport System (ITS) works well in a country with homogeneous traffic having proper lane discipline which is very different from India’s traffic scenario. This paper aims at developing a video-based automatic vehicle count software PyTrack, to get the classified count of heterogeneous traffic for a field video recording based on their base width. Numerous methods such as radar detection, induction loop counter, piezoelectric sensor and pressure nose vehicle counter can also be used to determine the traffic characteristics such as density, speed, volume and flow. Video based system used in this software has an added benefit of computer vision and can be extended to track a vehicle to get travel time, number plate recognition, accident detection and if needed can also serve as a surveillance system. PyTrack was developed using Python 2.7 programming language using dilation, blur, background subtraction and contour drawing algorithms from OpenCV 2.4.10 package. The results of the processed video were saved automatically as a CSV file and read in MATLAB 2014b for data interpretation.

A simple 2D Space Shooter developed using C# language in Unity Engine.

  • Mall Management System

    -

Developed a Mall Management System in C++, Unix, SQL and Pro C using concepts of Data Structures, Object Oriented Design and Programming, MVC Architecture and Agile Methodologies which could offer various functionalities such as adding or deleting stores, adding or deleting products from stores, searching for stores and products and financial analysis of the customers, stores and malls.

  • Galaxy Defender

    -

A 2D game for Windows and Mac being developed entirely for learning experience because I believe the best way to learn something is through practical application. Galaxy Defender is similar to Space Invaders and has 5 levels as you try to defend your planet from the invading space ships.

  • Automated Video Based System and Mathematical Modeling for Heterogeneous Traffic

    -

Developed a video based automated software, PyTrack (developed using Python), to track vehicles, record speed and density. Video needs to be loaded on to the software to get automated results with 95% accuracy. Software can be improved further for real time working as well.
Mathematical modeling to predict the density at a given section of road after a fixed interval of time for heterogeneous traffic with 85% accuracy. Takes current density and speed as input and predicts future density as…

Mathematical modeling to predict the density at a given section of road after a fixed interval of time for heterogeneous traffic with 85% accuracy. Takes current density and speed as input and predicts future density as output. Helpful to predict traffic jams that may occur in the future.
