Overview: The techniques can be used to allow organizations to easily generate and modify user engagement content (e.g., explanatory content related to an application) that is integrated with the application. For example, an administrator can use the techniques to create unique on-boarding experiences presented to new users when they log into Lightning Experience for the first time. Additionally, administrators can delete/modify any pre-made user engagement content that is irrelevant to their organization.

Fun Fact: This project was a collaboration across several different teams at Salesforce who were each working to solve the same problems of usability with in-app user engagement: Users would get hit with multiple prompts that were triggered by the same actions on the page. Without a common framework or centralized governance, teams creating prompts didn’t have awareness about what else had been created that might conflict. This was a problem dating back several years when we ran user research that also revealed the strong need for our customers to be able to create and modify the prompts for their users based on their specific custom implementations and business needs. We needed a framework that’s as robust and customizable as the Salesforce platform, and that’s what this innovation delivers. Through a cross-cloud program called One Learning Journey, we were all able to collaborate on the right solution, based on a broader understanding of the problem through multiple perspectives, and create something that hadn’t been done before.
