Animal Welfare
As a volunteer at the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre in Lilongwe, Malawi, I assisted in the care and rehabilitation of a variety of animals and supervised the release of three jackals that had been rescued by the LWC. I also participated in several outreach trips to different areas of Lilongwe during which I helped community members make sustainable "briquettes" that can be burned in stoves as an alternative to trash and other harmful, non-renewable fuels.

Another student and I spent a semester playing around with a Rethink Robotics Baxter robot through OHIO's Department of Mechanical Engineering. We wrote Python code for the robot using the Robot Operating System (ROS) and ultimately programmed it to be controlled by a ps3 remote.
