Projects

  • Formulation of Mathematical Model for Friction Stir Welding

    -

Mathematical modelling of the FSW process was formulated using the formulas for heat generated due to frictional heating while keeping in mind parameters such as feed, traverse speed and rotational speed.
Experimental set up of FSW process was done, and the temperature readings were noted for different values of the parameters.
The accuracy of the mathematical model was improved by factoring in constants.

  • Fatigue life analysis of wind turbine blades

    -

Modeled a wind turbine blade using SolidWorks with an airfoil design of NACA-0011.
Assessed the behavior of wind turbine blade when subjected to different loading scenarios.
Analyzed the behavior of different materials when subjected to fatigue loading using Ansys.

  • Cascade predictive control strategy for Active Suspension System

    -

Implemented and compared the performance of PI, PD, PID controllers for an active suspension system
Tuned the controllers manually, using Ziegler-Nichols & Simulated Annealing and compared the parameters

  • Prediction of photo-voltaic power generation using Monte Carlo Simulation

    -

Utilized Monte Carlo simulation along with LOWESS in python to anticipate PV power generation for solar panels installed in NSIT, along with weather conditions as an exogenous input variable.
Simulated a solar power plant production with an error in annual production less than 2% and maximum error in monthly value of about 6%, when compared to the actual plant.
