As the leader of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) West Michigan Chapter, I lead our chapter through empowerment and mentorship. Leading this 501(c)3 non-profit, I serve on our board, guiding the meetings to encourage individual growth, community, and education. I serve as a member of our Programs Committee to support monthly programs and recognize underserved topics and identify thought leaders. Additionally, I help drive our communications through email marketing and social media strategies. I launched two social media groups for members-only as a place for members to connect with their network, created the sponsorship program for the Chapter, and launched a student-strategy to attract student members. Additionally, I attend the SMPS Chapter Leader Symposium held every year in Washington D.C. (2022-Present). Alongside Architects, Engineers, and Surveyors, I annually meet with Senators and Representatives of Michigan to educate, support, and discuss the importance of infrastructure legislation. Oftentimes this requires research and an understanding of the issues beyond the summaries provided and individual plans based on the legislator I am/we're meeting with. This event takes place through ACEC of Michigan.

2023 was the First Annual Construction Science Expo for Lansing. This event took place in October 2023 and served as a way to educate Lansing Middle School students on Engineering and Construction careers and topics. As a member of the planning committee, I helped plan the event including brainstorming and decision-making, and created the Save the Date marketing material. We spent all day teaching hundreds of students the importance of engineering and infrastructure, as well as the lesser-known roles at firms like ours. Co-founding the new version of the Laingsburg Farmers Market, I helped develop the proposal for the new market, its financial plan, budget, advertising, website, and social media strategy. Working behind the scenes, I support the Market Manager through event planning, community outreach, and marketing while she runs the day-to-day.

I help CROP stop hunger domestically and abroad by fundraising and participating in their annual CROP walk in the Greater Lansing Area. I have been doing this with my family for the past 20+ years.

Over the years, I've not only donated to the salvation army, but I've worked a their food bank, preparing and sorting individual/family food packages.
